Dr. (Wg Cdr) Sapna Raina Retd. possesses +13 years of experience as an Ophthalmologist in the field of ophthalmology treating various opthalmic conditions.
After her MBBS, Dr. Raina completed her MS from the Air Force Command Hospital, Bangalore. She was also awarded a fellowship by the All India Collegium of Ophthalmologist (FAICO) in glaucoma.
Dr. Raina is an expert ophthalomologist with considerable experience in SMILE Eye surgery, LASIK & refractive surgery, cataract surgery besides treating medical retina, glaucoma and keratoconous treatments. She is a specialised medical professional in stitchless cataract surgery including premium lenses (Toric, Multifocal, Trifocal lenses), SMILE/LASIK and other refractive surgery, Femto laser assisted robotic cataract surgery. She is a specialised medical professional in retina diganostics, medical retina including, including intravitreal injections and retinal laser, proficient in all glaucoma diagnostics, therapeutics and surgeries.
She was an Associate Professor at the Army College of Medical Sciences, Delhi and the UG Examiner for Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
Her main area of expertise is aviation opthalmology, and was the HoD at the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi. She has been conducting ophthalmological examination & evaluation for Defence and Civil Aviation Pilots in India. She has been key specialist responsible for constantly reviewing and updating the ophthalmic standards for the conduct of medical examination for Defence and Civil Aviation Pilots by constantly researching and submitting papers in various national/international aviation medical seminars.
