Her areas of clinical interest include Coronary and non-coronary interventions, Paediatric Cardiology, Non-Surgical Closure of Intra‐cardiac Defects, and Echocardiography.
She pioneered balloon valvuloplasty in 1985 and performed the highest number of procedures, including PTMC, with more than 6000 by 2003 and published in international journals.
She also pioneered the non-surgical closure of intracardiac defects in 1987 and, using various devices, did the highest number as reported by any other.
She completed her MBBS from the University of Delhi in 1965, her MD (Medicine) from Delhi University in 1969, and her DM (Cardiology) from Delhi University in 1973.
Dr. Arora is a Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology (1995), a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (1998), a Fellow of the Cardiology Society of India, a Fellow of the Interventional Science Academy, and a member of the American Society of Echocardiography.
The Delhi Cardiological Society of India awarded Dr. Arora Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.
