Dr. Roy completed his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh, 1996. He did his MS from PGIMER in 2004. In 2012, he did his Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction, Foot & Ankle Division and Hip & Knee Division - Dept. of Orthopaedics, National University Health system, Singapore.
During his extensive training in Joint Replacement & Orthopaedics from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Apollo Hospital, he successfully performed 1,000 knee and hip replacement surgeries. He also attended an extensive workshop on Foot and Ankle Reconstruction under Dr. Rajiv Shah.
