He completed his MBBS from the University of Bombay in 1983 and went on to do his MS - General Surgery from the same university in 1988.
He has also received several Fellowships from the International Federation for Surgery of Obesity, International College of Surgeons, and Asia Pacific Bariatric Surgery Society.
He currently holds the record for operating on an 11-month-old baby and now pursuing childhood obesity also.
