Dr. Puneet Agarwal

Dr. Puneet Agarwal is a Neurologist with experience of 21 years.
He is the pioneer of initiating Sonothrombolysis in patients suffering from severe stroke in North India as well as in Max Hospital.
He is among the first few doctors in India to have studied Inflammatory Genes in Stroke Patients and IV Valproate in Status epilepticus.
Besides, he offers treatment for Cerebrovascular Disease, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, Nerve Disorders, Thrombotic Diseases, Strokes, Snoring and Sleep Disorders.
He takes keen interest in teaching and has been appointed as thesis guide to PhD students of IIT Delhi on Brain Wave Signal Processing in various cases of brain disorders.
He is also a guide for Thesis and Research Project of DM (Neurology) and MD (Medicine) students.
He received the Health Excellence Award in Jan 2017 in Neurology for "best Neurologist Delhi, India”.
He was the recipient of the Best Platform Paper Presentation Award in the most distinguished Indian Academy of Neurology (IAN) 2002 and U.P. Neuracon.
He also received the Best Teacher Award in 2003.
The publication of his biography in WHO’s WHO IN THE WORLD 2006 book, New Jersey, USA added to his accolades.
He regularly attends workshops and conferences and presents papers. He has delivered lectures at different conferences in various parts of India.
He has the membership of American Academy of Neurology and Life Membership of Indian Medical Association (IMA), IAN, IES, Neurology Society of India (NSI) and Delhi Neurology Association.
He is regularly engaged in research work and publication. He has published numerous papers in Peer Reviewed and famous Indexed Journals and authored chapters in books like: Cochrane, Lancet, Seizure Brain Research and Epilepsia etc. The paper titled “Largest series of Thrombolysed Cases of Stroke in India” presented in European Stroke Conference received high acclaim.
After graduating with MBBS from King George College, Lucknow, he pursued DM in Neurology in G. B. Pant hospital and stood first. Later he did Fellowship in Critical Care Neurology and Stroke from UCLA, Los Angeles, USA and Santara Hospital, Virginia, USA. He also did Training Fellowship in Sonothrombolysis, TCD, Cartoid Doppler, and Sleep Study in National University Hospital, Singapore. This was followed by other Training Fellowships in DBS, Parkinson’s disease and Botulinum Toxin Injection in Spain and Amsterdam.
