Dr. Deepak S Malhotra

Dr. Deepak S Malhotra is a leading Neurosurgeon with +15 years of experience in performing surgeries for advanced neurological conditions.
He holds professional memberships of the All Indian Surgeon's Association and the Urological Society of India.
Dr. Malhotra completed his graduation from Gujarat University in 1999, followed by MS in 2001 and M.Ch in 2005. He was awarded an ECFMG certification, Fellowship in Uro-gynecology and Neuro-urology from Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York. 
He holds the distinction of being the first and only neurosurgeon in Gujarat to perform External Carotid artery – Middle Cerebral artery, Superficial Temporal artery- Middle Cerebral artery bypass for Moyamoya disease. He has also performed an endoscopic removal of third ventricular tumor (colloid cyst), CP angle epidermoids.
Additionally, he is also the first neurosurgeon in the state to start minimally invasive neurosurgeries, do maximum cases of endoscopic third ventriculostomy (+70 cases ), do endoscopic assisted Microvascular decompression for Trigeminal neuralgias, chairi malformation (only 25 mm skin incision), do posterior fixation with custom made titanium screw & rod (way back in 2006), when no Indian made implants were available.
He is the only member (as Assistant Professor) in a committee of distinguished neurosurgeons (Professors & Head) formed for establishing AIIMS like centres in India under Pradhan Mantri Swastha Seva Yojna scheme. 
Dr. Malhotra was chosen by Hon’ble Health minister to prepare pilot project for establishing a dedicated neuroscience centre, the plan for which has been submitted.
An expert neurosurgeon, he is known to perform, laminectomy and offering treatment for other neurological conditions such as, foot drop, carotid body tumour embolization, petrosal sinus sampling, head & neck tumour embolization, spinal and cerebral tumor embolization, brain arteriovenous fistula embolization, brain dural arteriovenous fistula embolization, brain aneurysm coiling and carotid cavernous fistula treatment.
He has co-authored several research publications for reputed journals.
