Dr Ashish Bakshi is working as a Visiting Consultant Oncology at Hiranandani Hospital since October 2010.
He has completed DM in Medical Oncology from Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.
He was trained in adult & pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplants. During his training, he got conversant with workup of oncology patients, planning their treatment (chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies), managing their side effects, management of oncological emergencies and long term follow up of patients.
He is well trained at performing routine procedures (e.g. central venous access, lumbar puncture, administration of intrathecal drugs, bone marrow aspiration, ascitic and pleural tapping).
Dr. Bakshi was a consultant in the bone marrow transplant unit at Tata Memorial Centre and has been involved in the performance of bone marrow, peripheral blood and umbilical cord blood transplants.
He has experience of dealing with both related as well as unrelated hematopoietic stem cell transplants.
He has been involved in submitting the data to the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry (IBMTR).
