After his MBBS in 1986, he did MD (Medicine) in 1991 from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.
He completed DM (Gastroenterology) from Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi, 1995.
He holds membership of Secretary, Digestive Diseases Foundation of India, Delhi and has received at the Liver Unit at King`s College in London.
He was awarded with ‘Young Investigator Award’ at the 10th Asian Pacific Congress of Gastroenterology held at Yokohama in Japan.
